So it’s that time of year again. Yes 5 weeks or so to Christmas (as I write this blog) and the great American tradition of Black Friday is rearing it’s head once again. Billed as one of the “biggest shopping days of the year” in the USA, over the last few years it has become a significant part of UK consumer life too. This means many inboxes (including my own) are full of exclusive, time-limited deals from our favourite retailers, vying for our attention and, more importantly, our credit card details.
This seems to drive some of us into a fit of frenzy, with serious injury, criminal damage and, certainly in the US, a number of deaths occurring each year. All this for a *Insert non-descript item here* to add to the collection.
This year, instead of spending hours stressing out waiting for that “once in a lifetime” deal to come around, why not get outside and live a little more, enjoying some fresh air in the process? To help, I’ll be running a free guided walk on the afternoon of Friday 24th November in the Pentland Hills.
Starting from Hillend (on the Lothian Buses routes #4 and #15, or about 15 minutes walk from the #11 and #7 at Fairmilehead) at 2pm, we will head out on a circular route, taking in some of the nearby hills of the weather is good, or staying sheltered if the weather is less favourable. We aim to be back at Hillend by 5pm.
For your safety, spaces on this walk are limited to 12. For more information & to sign up, please email Sion directly: firstname.lastname@example.org
